Pilates tried to help the wounded soldiers to regain their well being by strengthening, stabilizing and stretching crucial muscle groups. He proposed a few precise motions which highlighted form and control, and included them into the present rehabilitation methods. <p>How can I make my spinning class more effective? I spin 3 to 4 times a week and love it, but want to keep improving cardio-wise and fat-burning wise.</p>
<p><strong>Answer:</strong></p>
<p>Spinning is a great way to do cardio work on the stationary bike, especially if you&#8217;re looking for <a target="_blank" href="http://www.fitstep.com/metabolic-surge/metabolic-surge-rapid-fat-loss.htm">fat loss</a>. Here are a few recommendations for your exercise goals.</p>
<p><strong>Fat Burning:</strong></p>
<p>1. Do your spinning class on a fasting state. What this means is that you should not eat or drink anything with calories in it for several hours before your class. The absolute best example of this is first thing in the morning. You can burn around 300% more fat if you do your cardio first thing in the morning before eating or drinking anything (except water, of course). If your class is later on in the day, eat your closest meal before it about 3 hours before to the class so you have enough time for it to be digested.</p>
<p>What the fasting state does for you is put you in a condition of low/stable blood sugar. If your body doesn&#8217;t have much blood sugar (carbohydrates) to fuel your exercise, it will dip into your fat stores much sooner. Be aware, however, that you may not feel as though you have as much energy to train when you first start doing this, especially if you are used to eating right before you train.</p>
<p>2. Do not eat anything right away after the spinning class. Your body will continue to burn fat after the class because you have cranked up your metabolism. Wait about an hour, then eat protein and carbs to help fuel your recovery.</p>
<p><strong>Cardio:</strong></p>
<p>1. The frequency of classes that you&#8217;re doing is good. I wouldn&#8217;t recommend going much over 3 to 4 times per week. This gives your body time to recover. You didn&#8217;t mention how long your spinning classes were but a good option to increase your endurance may be to get there a little early and stay a few minutes late doing some low-intensity pedaling.</p>
<p>2. Increasing the resistance on the bike will make the workload harder and build up your leg strength as well.</p>
<p>3. Increasing your cadence (leg speed/r.p.m.&#8217;s) will also increase your workload.</p>
<p>4. I am assuming that your class consists of <a target="_blank" href="http://www.fitstep.com/Misc/Newsletter-archives/issue7.htm">interval training</a> where the resistance and speed is varied during the workout. One thing you might want to try at the end of your spinning class is one all out sprint with everything you&#8217;ve got on a high resistance until you feel you can&#8217;t go any more&#8230;then go five more seconds. Not only has an all-out sprint that kicks out major lactic acid like this been shown to increase growth hormone levels in your body, it will build up your lung power and challenge you. Keep track of how long that last sprint lasts and try to increase it&#8217;s time each session you do it.</p>

<p>                                  BODYBUILDING NUTRITION</p>
<p>To gain muscle and lose fat you must;</p>
<p>• Take in slightly less calories than you are burning</p>
<p>• Consume higher quality calories.  Eat more natural unprocessed foods that don&#8217;t come wrapped in a box.  If it rots, it&#8217;s good for you:  Lean (protein with low amount of fat, aka chicken &amp; turkey breasts, lean beef, eggs), Green (vegetable, green beans, salads, apples), &amp; Marine (fish).</p>
<p>• Small meals often.  You must eventually work up to 5-6 small meals per day; about every 3-4 hours</p>
<p>• Macronutrient Profile-  Every meal you eat should contain protein and carbs combined together.  How much?  A starting point would be;  </p>
<p>1. Most women and under 130 lb. men  15-20 grams of protein in each meal<br />
2. 130 lb. &#8212; 165 lb. men                          20-30 grams of protein in each meal<br />
3. 170 lb. and up                                     30-45 grams of protein in each meal</p>
<p>      One of the biggest &#8220;nutrition Secrets&#8221;  in the Bodybuilding  world is a technique called carb cycling.  In a  nut shell you have two different types of carbs.</p>
<p>Starchy carbs—Sources are brown &amp; wild rice, oatmeal, whole grain pasta, sweet potatoes / yams</p>
<p>Non-starchy carbs—Sources are veggies, grean beans, salads, apples, grape-fruit</p>
<p>Cycle your calories by eating only non starchy carbs with your protein on Interval Cardio days and throw in your starchy carbs only on days you train intensely with weights.  This is absolutely t he secret for you to keep your metabolism revved up while you gain muscle and lose fat.</p>
<p>You can work-out till your blue in the face but if you do not incorporate Interval Cardio (done first thing in the morning in a fasted state), intense functional multi-joint, compound exercises, small healthy meals often with protein and carbs combined together, positive mindset, goal setting &amp; social support (you will turn into who you hang around) you will not change your body much.  Physique development is about losing fat<br />
(to show the shape of the muscle) as much if not more than building muscle.  It is definitely a combination of the two.</p>

<p>People spend hundreds of millions of dollars buying gym memberships and fitness equipment this time of year in preparation for their new years resolutions but you dont have to.  Getting in shape doesnt require money, just knowledge and dedication and this video will put you on the road to fitness.</p>
<p>In this video I will show you how to achieve your new years resolution of losing weight and getting stronger with a simple 30 minute home workout.  This video assumes that you have no experience with fitness or weightlifting so dont worry, we are not going to use any intimidating equipment.  You will feel better and have more energy after your very first workout!</p>
<p>OK, now for our workout, there are only three exercises &#8211; crunches for abs, pushups for chest, shoulders and triceps, and pullups for lats and biceps.  And dont worry, if you cant do a single pushup or pullup I will show you how you can get started and build up your strength.  This workout is for everyone, no matter how out of shape you are.  You probably did these three exercises back in PE as a kid, but I&#8217;m going to show you how to do them correctly so you dont get injured.  </p>
<p>On Monday/Wednesday/Friday do 15 minutes of cardio and this 15 minute workout.  On the other four days of the week, do 30 minutes of cardio.</p>

Bodybuilding doesn&#8217;t have to be expensive or take a lot of time, gyms are great but home workouts can save you time and money.
