METHODS TO INCREASE BODY MUSCLES

 

It is possible to maintain the good physique you had developed for as long as you wish, if you are regular in continuing with the workouts that you followed to achieve it. You must also make sure that your diet always includes food that is helpful in building up muscles.

 

It is important that you are knowledgeable about what you eat. Your muscle gain diet must contain food that is most helpful in keeping your body in an excellent condition.

 

The food stuff that works best for building muscles are those which are rich in carbohydrates and protein.

 

The amount of protein that you should take will depend upon your age and sex. A man who wants to increase the bulk of his muscles should eat 1.5gm protein for every pound of his body weight.

 

Proteins are the basic units that build muscles. Some excellent sources of protein are chicken breasts, eggs with the yolk removed, cottage cheese and protein shakes. Meat that features in your menu should be grilled. Avoid eating fried meat.

 

Carbohydrates are nutrients that are energy producers. They do not build muscles but provide them the energy they need. Eating food that is high in carbohydrate content is essential so that muscles can draw energy from them when you carry out exercise routine.

 

Carbohydrates can be grouped in to three main categories. These are the simple carbohydrates, complex carbohydrates and carbohydrates derived from vegetables. Of these three categories, complex carbohydrates release their energy content rather slowly.

 

Some examples of food stuff that contain complex carbohydrates are bread, brown rice, oatmeal, varieties of pasta and cereals. Simple carbohydrates provide energy quickly for immediate use.

 

Fruit juices and energy drinks are very rich in simple carbohydrates. As you can guess, vegetable carbohydrates are found in vegetables.

 

Those who are on a diet meant to increase their weight should make sure that it includes food stuff containing a lot of fatty acid. Fatty acids generally help in gaining weight diet.

 

Several functions of the body, including the production of testosterone are governed by the essential fatty acids, particularly, omega-3 fatty acids.

 

Flaxseed oil, olive oil and cod-liver oil are excellent sources for fatty acids. When you want to build your body muscles make sure that your diet contains a lot of carbohydrates and proteins.

 

Digestion of food requires water as do all the metabolic processes that take place in your body. It is essential to drink a lot of water.
