I agree that food …
I agree that food rewards can be very self sabotaging…and it’s so much easier to ‘cheat a little’ on successive days if you allow yourself to cheat often as a means of rewarding. I do think it’s ok to cheat on occasion so to speak…but I personally think we should call it a planned cheat rather than a reward to get our heads away from associating food with rewards! The none food rewards for me are really much more rewarding cause they reinforce feeling good about my choices!

I think years of ” …
I think years of “rewards” are one of the things that contributed to my obesity. I used to follow Weight Watcher’s. For a week, religiously I’d comply…then after weigh-in, I’d go “reward” myself with a pizza or something. So I don’t reward myself anymore. And I’m finally “getting it”! (It only took me 42 years…lol)

i haven’t done the rewards thing either.. w/food or anything else.. i guess i feel like i’m not ready to be rewarded…not til i’ve been out for at least 5 years and can say…hey i am a success story! my reward so far has been the great news i keep getting at my follow ups with my cardiologist.. that has been an awesome reward..

I can totally agree …
I can totally agree with u on the over rewarding and self sabatous(maybe spelled wrong). In October I got down into the 190′s and I rewarded myself all the way back up to 205 but now 3 mths later im getting back on track and it has not been easy. but im going to keep the faith and keep it moving.

i decided NOT to do food rewards, at 100lbs down i did mani/pedi (now i’m hooked every two weeks)
at 140 lbs down, nose piercing….
when i hit goal, i’m thinking tattoo(small and very discreet, lol)
